About Tigard - Since Tigard, Oregon was incorporated in 1961 it has become a clean, comfortable and affordable community. In order to accommodate its increasing population and diversity, the city of Tigard has created an “open door” policy. Citizens are encouraged to attend the weekly city council meetings and observe their four council members and mayor as they discuss issues which will have a direct effect on the city.
